i think what christine's mother said when we were in macau is so true. she told us that whenever her friends ask her if she wants them to buy anything back from their holiday, she'll simply tell them, just enjoy your trip. she told us its because its rather a bother having to go on a holiday with so many things you have to help ppl buy in mind.
i think the japanese have the right idea about it. my mother told me that when someone is going on a holiday, her friends will give her a small sum of money, sort of to help her cover her expenses. and in return she will bring a lil something back for her friends.
anyway, wouldn't you rather receive something as a surprise, and not cuz you had to ask for it?
