gymming

i just signed up for the two week free trial at california on thursday. so far, i've attended one pilates class and one body balance class. the pilates was wonderful, really worked those obscure muscles we hardly use, but the body balance one didn't really do it for me. its like a mish mash of taichi, pilates and yoga. seems like you can get the best of both worlds right? but to me i felt pretty silly doing the taichi stuff, reminds me of chinese dance practice back in secondary school. and its such light exercise that you don't feel like you're exercising at all! perhaps more to improve your well-being?

anyways, i intend to attend as many classes as possible while i can before the trial expires. its so much more fun than doing weights etc! actually, i feel so tempted to sign up for a membership so i can continue going for all the classes, but i know that i won't have time to go once i start work. wish they had shorter term offers! all their membership packages are either 2, 3 or 4 years! i can't imagine committing to a gym for so long haha, what if i get sick of it, or i find another way to exercise?

and, before i stepped in i'd always felt kind of intimidated, but inside i realise it's really okay! the orchard branch has three floors. the third floor is where all the free weights and thus where most of the guys are. the second floor has the resistance machines, and the ground floor has all the cardio machines! i saw quah ting wen in the pilates class, and chen han wei walking around today! haha. apart from the location, i actually think the machines and weights seem pretty on par with a clubfitt gym! so unless you wanna attend all the classes, a clubfitt gym will suffice! i think the sports council is doing a pretty good job bringing sports to the people!

anyways, last night i was talking to weiyang about him working in koi, and i was seriously considering working there! it seems like a fun job, and i don't mind that the pay is low after all i'd only be doing it to pass time. furthermore, i'm starting work almost 1 month later than the rest! but i realise that i've been going out everyday this week and my room is getting messy again, and i've been putting off doing the laundry for almost a week already. plus C didn't think it was such a good idea, he said that there isn't a need for me to do it. so i thought better of it. i realise that i always jump into things before thinking it through, then halfway through i find that perhaps its not such a good idea after all. but ynoe, i agree with the saying that you're more likely to regret the things that you didn't do, as compared to the things you did. so i secretly think that this habit of mine isn't that bad after all, although I know C will beg to differ!

okay, i'm going to have an early night so that i can pop out of bed bright and early for a bodycombat class tmr at 10! hehe.
